ReSound has announced the formation of a global audiology team to leverage its audiology expertise in providing the necessary audiologic perspective during the process of hearing instrument design — from concept to release into the market.
“As technology continues to evolve, the needs of the hearing-impaired and the needs of those dispensing hearing instruments must continue to drive product development,” says Laurel Christensen, PhD, ReSound's chief audiology officer.
Christensen will lead the team of 25 audiologists located in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Her management team includes John Nelson, PhD, VP, audiology global relations; Jennifer Groth, MA, director, audiology communications; Charlotte Jespersen, MA, director, audiology development; and Todd Fortune, PhD, director, audiology systems and design.
The team will draw upon scientific rigor and in-depth clinical experience to guide new product development that is both advanced and practical, the company says. The team will also be responsible for technical training in the global markets and supporting local sales efforts worldwide.
